The musical battle among the big guns steel orchestras with $11M at stake takes place on the Queen’s Park Savannah turf at the blink/bmobile National Panorama Finals on Saturday evening.

The “war” began with the Preliminaries with a total of 90 entrants. Of the ten medium bands in the finals, three will be playing the Mark Loquan/Ken Philmore/Destra Garcia composition “Calling Meh”, while two others are going with “Wake Up”.

At the end of the Semi Finals, two of the top three scoring large bands, PCS Silver Stars and Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars played Edwin Pouchet/Alvin Daniell’s “It’s Showtime” while Petrotrin Phase II Pan Groove played Len Boogsie Sharpe’s interpretation of “Do Something For Pan”.

In the line-up are Steel Xplosion and PCS Silver Stars, both of whom will be defending their respective titles. The former will play at number five in their category with the latter drawing

eight.  Also in the finals are four Tobago steel orchestras.

Sunday’s event will bring closure to the season’s play off as well as $2M.first prize bragging rights.

Showtime is 7:00 pm with the ten (10) Medium Bands playing first, followed by an equal number of Large Bands. Tickets are priced at Grand Stand $350., $500 (Reserved) and North Stand $200.  Patrons can win airline tickets to any North American destination courtesy Caribbean Airlines and a fragrance hamper courtesy Stetcher’s Ltd.
